Style and Substance: The World of Sasha!

Sasha is one of the most fashionable students at the campus of Media Studies at the University of Copenhagen. She attracts with her colours, modernity and girly dresses. When you look at her day-wear - you always think - the choice is right :) Super pretty and feminine! I was lucky to have a few moments with Sasha to talk about her style, Denmark and take some photos of her in quite intriguing place in Amager.

Who are your style icons?
Alison Mosshart - always. Also Alexis Krauss, Alexa Chung, Bridgitte Bardot, all actresses from old French movies, sometimes even Victoria Beckham, - it really is all over the place.
Name 3 things everyone should have in their wardrobe?
Simple white T-shirt, nice set of matching underwear, a simple well-fitted super-sexy dress to knock them all out!
What do you think about Danish fashion? Where is its destination right now?
Well, there are a lot of things I do like and a lot of things I don't. I think what a lot of times you see in the street in Copenhagen is very un-feminine. These square "boyfriend" coats, hair put up in a super-messy bun hanging off the side of the head, super-oversized sweaters covering quite nice girly figures, and the runners with leggings and mad 80s sweaters... At the same time I like the other girls who wear transparent shirts with only underwear under them pairing that with the skinniest jeans you find in the whole Europe (apparently Diesel makes them extra-skinny just for the Scandinavian market), and with a simple pair of biker boots or black converse. It's this subtle-playfulness that really amazes me. Or an oversized T-shirt that uncovers a shoulder for example, but also worn with skinny jeans - and no way with those pyjama pants that I really don't understand either. It's a thin line - it's just amazes me how there are a lot of super-beautiful girls that bury themselves in scarves and layers of unfitting things - it might be casual but just not up my alley at all. At the same time they can carry it off most of the time with their attitude.
Do you have any tips or favourite local designers, here in Copenhagen?
I love the new collection by Stine Goya - these blouses and dresses dappled with golden spots are simply devine and the colours are just amazing. Wood Wood have some great sportyish stuff and I have a super-warm sweater from Norse Projects that saves me through winter. I love the basics by Samsøe Φ Samsøe; Soulland for some guys stuff; Henrik Vibskov for colours (and because he plays drums with Trentemøller!), Baum und Pferdgarten has some stuff to die for.
Your daily inspirations are?
It's a very tough question. I wish everyday was as easy as to get up and get a pair of jeans and a T-shirt - but I have some serious mood swings! Sometimes I might see something on a blog or Tumblr and think that I should wear something similar and be more playful but come morning I'll end up with a T-shirt. Sometimes I can go out for groceries in an evening dress and high-heels if I feel like it. It's really unpredictable. But I do keep an eye out on what's on in blogs, magazines and everywhere else too.

Any recommendations for oncoming Spring?
Well, stay warm!  Get a bike, do lots of sports, stay healthy and throw away that frown.  Everything looks good on a well maintained body and a smile is always draws people in. When in doubt - white T + black jeans + tennis shoes + laid back attitude.
